The Jacksonville Jaguars released their first unofficial depth chart on Monday, ahead of Friday's preseason opener at home against the Pittsburgh.
As the description suggests, it's far from set in stone, but it does offer some insight into what head coach Gus Bradley and his staff are thinking at certain positions early in camp.
Perhaps most noteworthy was the decision to list co-starters at several positions, including running back, center, defensive tackle and cornerback.
At running back, rookie T.J. Yeldon, who has impressed the coaching staff since the beginning of the team's offseason program, is listed as co-starter with Denard Robinson. The 24-year-old Robinson led the Jaguars in rushing last season with 582 yards.
At center, last year's starter Luke Bowanko is listed as co-starter with free-agent acquisition Stefen Wisniewski. Both players have alternated with the first team early in camp, and according to the team's official website, a decision on the starter may come before the third preseason come.
With Sen'Derrick Marks is on the physically unable to perform list, veterans Ziggy Hood and Tyson Alualu are the current co-starters at defensive tackle, though the job figures to go back to Marks once he's able to return.
Finally, veterans Aaron Colvin and Demetrius McCray are listed as co-starters at cornerback.
While the first depth chart may not have much significance in terms of the team that will end up taking the field Week 1 against Carolina, particularly since only one player can start at each position, it does at least offer confirmation that the competition for many of the positions will need more time to play out.
