Jaguars WR Lee hopes to debut against Dolphins
After missing Week 1 with hamstring trouble that plagued him throughout training camp, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee may be on the verge of making his season debut.
Lee, who returned to practice on a limited basis on Wednesday, said he's hopeful he'll be cleared to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
"I feel like I'm ready to go but then again it's all up to the trainers, how they feel, how they feel like I look out there," Lee said, per ESPN. "It just depends on how I feel after practice."
The second-year receiver, who injured his hamstring the fifth day of training camp, said he's been able to do sprint work with any setbacks.
"It was a good feeling," Lee said. "You can ask (strength and conditioning coordinator Tom Myslinkski). I was pretty having the opportunity to actually go out there and run full speed. Not only just full sprints but running routes.
"It's good to be back."
Lee will test his hamstring again in practice on Thursday, and if all goes well, the receiver could be back on the field Sunday.
"Marqise has a unique speed that very few in the league have, so it’ll be good to get him back and involved in the offense," offensive coordinator Greg Olson said.
The 23-year-old also missed all of OTAs and minicamp after suffering a knee injury during the team's offseason conditioning program.
A second-round pick in 2014, Lee caught 37 passes for 422 yards and one touchdown as a rookie.
