Jaguars WR Lee in line for larger role with Hurns' status uncertain

The status of Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns for this week's game against the Tennessee Titans is in doubt after the second-year player suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Hurns, who has 48 receptions for 758 yards and seven touchdowns this season is in the NFL's concussion protocol. If he's not cleared to play against the Titans on Sunday, it may provide a chance for fellow second-year wideout Marqise Lee to play a larger role in the Jacksonville offense.

Lee, a 2014 second-round pick out of USC, missed six of the Jaguars' first eight games with a hamstring injury. He returned to action Week 10 and has five receptions for 51 yards on the season.

“I think he’s gaining confidence,” Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said, per the team's official website. “It’s probably similar to (tight end) Julius (Thomas). There’s a time period when you come back from your injury that you’re still working some things out, and you just keep getting better and better. Hopefully, he hits full stride. He appears to be healthy and feels healthy, so (the team will) just try to incorporate him more.”

As a rookie, Lee caught 37 passes for 422 yards and one touchdown.
