Jalen Ramsey backs up his talk in debut
Going up against a superhuman quarterback, rookie Jalen Ramsey held his own and looked like he belongs in the NFL.
Before the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers,
Despite his strong individual play, the Jaguars still lost the game in heartbreaking fashion, squandering a huge opportunity at the end of the game to give the home fans a thrilling come-from-behind victory. Ramsey was upset about the loss, but he didn’t back off from his previous statements:
Ramsey doubled down on his personal Twitter, stating his case and letting everyone know he’s ready to help the Jaguars get better.
Ramsey didn’t see many balls thrown in his direction and that usually means he was doing a good job of covering his receiver. Ramsey almost had a big play as a blitzer as well when he get a fistful of Aaron Rodgers’ jersey near the end of the second quarter, but Rodgers somehow managed to throw a dart 30 yards down the field for a touchdown with the rookie corner dragging him down.
This is absurd. https://t.co/N7BO4gFuFh

I firmly believe the Jaguars were an overall better team on Sunday, but they just couldn’t respond to the handful of absolutely absurd plays Rodgers made on Sunday. His flash plays combined with his knack for avoiding turnovers make Rodgers one of the most difficult quarterbacks to defend, even if you hold him to under 200 yards like the Jaguars did.
The Jaguars have a special player in Jalen Ramsey, but more players – particularly along the defensive line – need to step over the course of the season to get the Jaguars over the hump.
