Jameis Winston is starting to hit his stride in Week 10, pulling off a highlight play for the ages against the Chicago Bears.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are trying to get to the postseason for the first time this decade, and Jameis Winston appears to be their best chance at getting there. He turned in a fantastic rookie season last year and is following that up with a season of extreme highs and nasty lows.

We’ve seen more highs on Sunday against the Chicago Bears, particularly on a play that will go in the greatest hits compilation at the end of Winton’s career. That might be looking too far ahead, but Winston made a play in the third quarter that reminded Bucs fans why they should have so much faith in him.

On a play that seemed to be D.O.A., Winston scrambled out of about four different sack-attempts, avoided giving up a safety and managed to complete a bomb to Mike Evans to cap it all off. It was one of the most bizarre plays we’ve seen all season long, and continued contributing to what has been a wild game in Tampa.

The Buccaneers followed this up by scoring on a 43-yard touchdown pass to Freddie Martino, highlighting just how all over the map this game has been. Winston’s scramble was an answer of sorts to Jay Cutler’s Hail Mary before the end of the first half.

It also serves as a reminder that when Winston his locked in, he can be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He’s still young, and the Bucs are a year away from being true contenders, but for once in a very long time, the future looks bright in Tampa Bay.
