Jeff Fisher explains the real reason Rams QB Nick Foles is holding out
The Los Angeles Rams don't really have a quarterback controversy given that they traded a bundle of picks to move up to No. 1 in the 2016 draft where they took QB Jared Goff.
He's the quarterback of the future, and that future will probably arrive at some point early this season if not Week 1.
That didn't stop there being a little buzz around the team Wednesday during OTAs, though, as it was reported that quarterback Nick Foles has been holding out since the Rams drafted Goff. As the narrative goes, Foles was disappointed the Rams took Goff and decided to act on it.

That's not the case, though. Head coach Jeff Fisher explained Foles' holdout after practice Wednesday to reporters.
Foles was the Rams' starting QB last season until he lost his job to Case Keenum. It's possible Keenum opens the season as the starter, but it's only a matter of games and reps until the team gets turned over to Goff and everyone carries on.
