Jets CB Marcus Williams 'day-to-day' with MCL sprain
With Darrelle Revis sidelined due to a concussion, the New York Jets turned to Marcus Williams on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Williams played well in Revis' spot, intercepting his fifth pass of the season while also adding a pass defensed.
While his play was solid, he was unable to finish the game unscathed. According to head coach Todd Bowles, Williams suffered a sprained MCL in the game and is considered "day-to-day." Bowles said there's a chance he can play on Sunday, but he'll be monitored throughout the week.
Williams lead the Jets with five interceptions despite not being a full-time starter. He struggled against DeAndre Hopkins two weeks ago after Revis suffered a concussion, but he rebounded in a big way against the Dolphins this week.
If Williams and Revis are unable to play against the New York Giants on Sunday, the Jets will rely on Antonio Cromartie, Buster Skrine, and possibly Dee Milliner, who was a healthy scratch against the Dolphins. Odell Beckham Jr. could be in for a big day if that's the case.
