Jets draft quarterback Christian Hackenberg in second round
The New York Jets drafted Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg with their NFL Draft second-round pick Friday in Chicago.
The 6-foot-four, 228-pound Hackenberg, 21, threw 16 touchdowns in his junior year with the Nittany Lions.
The addition of another quarterback clouds the Jets' situation with present starter Ryan Fitzpatrick, whose contract negotiations have reached an impasse.
#Jets plan to sit Christian Hackenberg, let him grow. They've believed in the player for a while. Expect a Ryan Fitzpatrick deal to be 1r

Jets GM Mike Maccagnan has said the Jets would likely draft a quarterback at some point, and that the situation with Fitzpatrick would not impede in that plan.
Though social media was quick to put their own spin on the proceedings.
@nyjets how about you sign a real quarterback the name of Ryan Fitzpatrick
