The New England Patriots are on to New York, but not without adding some fuel to the fire. Jet fuel, that is.
According to multiple reports, the New York Jets have signed former Patriots wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins and will promote him to the active roster immediately.

Thompkins was signed by New England as an undrafted free agent in 2013, catching 32 passes with four touchdowns — including a game-winner against the New Orleans Saints — in 12 games. He was released in Oct., 2014, with the intent of being signed to the practice squad, but was picked up on waivers by the Oakland Raiders.
New England re-signed Thompkins to its practice squad last month, but released him again just 24 days later.
The Pats play the Jets in Foxboro this week, and Thompkins provides good depth for New York, who will be without the services of wide out Quincy Enunwa. Enunwa was suspended four games by the NFL on Monday for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
