Joe Flacco repeatedly says Ravens should have beaten Cowboys: 'I'm not kidding'
The Ravens became the ninth straight team to fall to the hottest team in the NFL – the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The Cowboys’ only loss this season came in Week 1, a one-point defeat to the Giants, so it’s safe to say Dallas has been the best team in the league.
But if you ask Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, he doesn’t see the Cowboys as world beaters. In fact, he firmly believes 5-5 Baltimore should have handed Dallas its second loss of the season.
“We should beat this team. We should beat this team,” Flacco told reporters after the Ravens’ 27-17 loss. “I’m not kidding. I felt very confident coming into this game, and I really feel like we should beat this team.”
But Flacco also feels the Ravens shouldn't lose to anyone.
"We should beat pretty much every team we play," Flacco said. "And the couple that you lose, you hurt yourself and you lose them. And that's not what we're doing right now. We're obviously not as good as we would like to be, and no I don't want to take any moral victories."
Baltimore twice took the lead against Dallas in the first half but was outscored 17-7 after halftime. Flacco was solid but not spectacular, completing 23 of 35 attempts for 269 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions.
But it wasn’t enough to lead the Ravens to their third consecutive victory, as they fell into a tie for first place in the AFC North with the Steelers.
