Joey Bosa Injury Update: Will he play in Week 2?
The San Diego Chargers will be without Joey Bosa in Week 2 because of a hamstring injury.
Joey Bosa will miss his second straight game Sunday due to a hamstring injury. Bosa was drafted third overall by the San Diego Chargers in this year’s NFL draft and ever since it’s been a mess.
The former Ohio State Buckeye is missing his second straight regular season game after missing all four in the preseason. But it wasn’t easy getting him on the team. He held out after the draft until he got the contract that he wanted. The holdout was lengthy but the Chargers eventually signed him to a four-year deal.
Bosa reported to camp on August 30th and that same day he injured his hamstring. The injury has kept him out of practice all week. His status for week 3 doesn’t look good either.
The Chargers took a chance on Bosa at third overall. He started last college football season as the clear-cut number one pick and best player in the country. It changed quickly throughout the season and mock drafts had him falling. The Chargers surprised people by snagging him at three in front of guys like Jalen Ramsey and Ezekiel Elliot. It has proven to be costly so far.
Bosa was the most hyped up defensive player since Jadeveon Clowney was taken first overall by Houston. But he hasn’t made a good impression to the NFL yet. Many were outraged by how he acted during his holdout. It’s like he forgot he is a rookie.
If there is anything the Chargers need, it’s more help on defense. They blew a 27-3 lead against the Chiefs last week. They ended up losing the game 33-27. Alex Smith threw for over 350 yards against the bad Chargers’ defense. The Chargers definitely need to Bosa to come back soon.
The Chargers take on the Jaguars this week.
