Jordan Reed suffered a concussion in Sundays game against the Eagles. Reports later came out later Monday that Jordan Reed has a concussion, MCL sprain, and an ankle sprain.

All these injuries stacking up at once for Jordan Reed is unfortunate for the third year tight end. The concussion issue may threaten more than just his status for next Sunday, it may threaten his career.

Jordan Reed had two concussions in college at Florida, then two more concussions in his rookie year in 2013. With this concussion in 2015 that is a total of five concussions in a 5 year span, which should raise some flags for the 25-year-old Reed.

For the injury prone Reed the MCL and ankle sprain are the least of his concerns, if he can’t help this concussion issue he may never be healthy for a full season.

Unfortunately football is one of the most violent sports in all the major sports, so it may be hard for Reed to shake this concussion issue that has plagued his career.

The Jordan Reed injury leaves the Redskins thin at tight end going into week 5 with just Derek Carrier and Anthony McCoy. Look for Kirk Cousins to highly target Pierre Garçon in week 5, since DeSean Jackson will still be out along with Jordan Reed.

Jordan Reed’s injury hurts the Redskins offense he currently leads the Redskins in receiving yards with 278 yards, and is tied for first in receptions with Pierre Garçon with 24 receptions.
