Josh Norman and Patrick Peterson are beefing over their Madden ratings

Published Nov. 15, 2016 2:29 p.m. ET

With the forthcoming “Madden 17” set to release this month, ratings for every player have been released. The cornerback position is one that has received a boatload of attention, mainly due to the fact that Josh Norman was unveiled as the best corner in the game with a 94 overall rating.

Patrick Peterson, who’s always vocal on Twitter, took a jab at Norman’s rating after seeing a viral video of him being burnt by Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon.

Naturally, Norman responded with a shot of his own, pointing out that Peterson is the No. 4-rated cornerback in the game.

The feud didn’t end there, nor did it exclusively reside on Twitter. Norman addressed the situation on Thursday, telling Peterson not to talk about him.

"That guy? Come on, man," Norman said via ESPN. "Be No. 4 and be happy. Come on, don't talk about me, I'm not talking about you. I mean, I'll still continue to work and try to be better than No. 1. Where that is, I don't know, but I'm working toward that. Obviously he's somewhere trolling other people. He should be worried about what he's doing on the field and if he gets beat up this year. He shouldn't be trolling me.”

Norman, who’s entering his first season with the Redskins, has been the victim of a few videos that showed him getting torched by his teammates in practice. Peterson wasn’t the only one to take notice of the plays, as thousands of fans on Twitter did too.

DeSean Jackson was one of the players who put Norman on skates, but he came to his teammates’ defense when the feud gained traction.

"I'm just wondering why this dude was speaking on me and bringing me up in conversation,” Jackson said Thursday. “Both of them guys are two of the great corners in this league and they've definitely earned the respect, but just try to keep guys names out of your mouth. Just go out there and play ball."

According to John Keim of ESPN, Norman and Jackson discussed the ordeal on Thursday morning.

"It's like, why are you trolling people?" Norman said. "You should be worried about practicing and don't worry about talking about other players. Some people want the spotlight and some don't. Some people really want to get to where we're at and it's sad... Dude, you're a first-round pick, why are you worried about me?”

The Redskins play the Cardinals in Week 13 on December 4, and Norman can’t wait to see what Jackson does to Peterson. If this fire continues to burn, it will be an exciting game to watch and one to follow in the week leading up.
