Josh Norman holds nothing back when discussing Roger Goodell
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has taken a lot of criticism from players, fans and owners lately. From the Deflategate fallout to Ray Rice’s slap on the wrist, his decisions in recent years have made him a target for the guys making plays on the field each week.
And it’s not just Tom Brady or Michael and Martellus Bennett unhappy with the commissioner. Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman isn’t pleased with the way Goodell has handled his job, either.
Norman obviously didn’t hold back when offering his thoughts on Goodell despite never having a run-in with him like Brady and the Patriots have. His beef stems from the commissioner’s apparent power as the judge, jury and executioner in NFL matters.
Norman has been one of the most outspoken players in football as he's risen to stardom in the past year. His rivalry with Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is well documented, stemming from their battle late in the 2015 season.
Just as he did when talking about Goodell, Norman has spoken his mind on Beckham and held back just about nothing. He continued that trend in ESPN’s interview, wondering when Beckham is going to “grow up.”
"He's skilled and talented," Norman said. "I won't take that away from him. But he's never been through any adversity in his life. It's like, when are you ever going to grow up?"
It should be fun to see these two go back and forth twice a year for the foreseeable future now that they’re playing in the same division.
