Justin Houston's Third Sack Results in Safety, First Points of Game (Video)
Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Justin Houston is in just his second game back, but is making life miserable for Trevor Siemian and the Denver Broncos.
Justin Houston finally made his return to the Kansas City Chiefs last week. It was fantastic to see him back on the field, but he was predictably limited. On Sunday Night Football in Week 12, though, he was unleashed on the Denver Broncos. And let’s just say that he had quite the impact on the game in the first half.
Matched up with a backup right tackle in Ty Sambrailo, Houston was absolutely abusing the youngster. Every snap, the Chiefs star was getting held or getting to Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian.
In fact, he not only brought Siemian down once early in the game:
.@JHouston50 is BACK.
And he’s sacking QBs as usual. #KCvsDEN https://t.co/p6FqWiYEmI

But then did it again not much later:

However, the worst was yet to come for the Broncos at the hands of Houston. After Denver got backed up against their own goal line, the score remained 0-0 in an ugly, ugly game. That’s when Siemian dropped back, Houston destroyed Sambrailo’s replacement in Donald Stephenson, and then got to the quarterback again. This time, he jarred the ball loose and the play resulted in a safety:
Sack. Fumble. SAFETY.@JHouston50‘s THIRD sack of the first half gives the @Chiefs 2 points! #KCvsDEN https://t.co/KCk3zpu8rs

In just his second game back, Houston recorded three sacks in roughly 20 minutes of play. And then there’s the forced fumble and safety. Not a bad way to come back. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, Houston was later taken back to the locker room with no word on his injury status.
Things just got worse for the Broncos after the safety. They lined up for the free kick and sent the ball to speedy rookie Tyreek Hil. Kansas City’s return man is one of the fastest guys in the league and showed it off as he went all the way down the right sideline for the score.
