Kenny Stills Goes Deep, Bengals Barely Care to Cover Him (Video)

Kenny Stills had no problem exploiting a blown coverage deep in the middle of the field, catching a 74-yard touchdown pass

The Miami Dolphins apparently are embracing the power of the traffic cone on Thursday Night Football. Sporting their bright-orange Color Rush uniforms on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals, the visitors fell behind 3-0 to start the game. However, speedy wideout Kenny Stills had absolutely no problem changing the narrative of the game quite quickly.

Despite starting the drive deep in their own territory, Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins looked unfazed. They moved the ball a bit on their first plays of the drive, but then looked to the air for more. Stills ran what looked to be a skinny post to the middle of the field. However, that’s when he turned upfield and went deep down the middle of the field.

As Bengals safety George Iloka bit on a route underneath, Stills was left wide open thanks to the blown coverage. Unlike in Week 1 when he dropped the sure touchdown, though, the receiver hauled it in and waltzed into the end zone for a 74-yard score:

Like I said, it’s pretty clear that Iloka blows his coverage deep down the field. However, it does look a bit like they were just going to let Stills run freely—not a care in the world about him.

That gave the visiting Dolphins the early lead. Though our eyes may not appreciate it, Miami may want to adopt the orange uniforms regularly if this is what happens when they wear him. In fact, maybe Iloka was simply blinded by the jerseys. Honestly, you can’t rule it out.
