Kyle Shanahan looks to keep the Atlanta offense balanced in 2015
As the Atlanta Falcons roll through OTAs, they are focused on trying to make sure they have a good balance on offense under new offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan in 2015, according to John Buhler of ATL All Day.
In an interview on AtlantaFalcons.com, Shanahan spoke about the balance that run/pass balance that he wants to establish for the team this year.
“Our goal is to be balanced. You want to make teams defend both the run and the pass on first and second down. Try to be in a 50-50 area.”
As for Shanahan's offense, players seem excited to be a part of it, including running back Antone Smith, who said that "the system does work, obviously. The track record has been working since the Denver days.”
Taking some pressure off Matt Ryan definitely won't be a bad thing, and it'll be interesting to see how everything plays out, especially since the team not only has Devonta Freeman returning, but also drafted intriguing running back Tevin Coleman.
