Locked on Chiefs - Joel Thorman stops by to Celebrate

It’s too early in the week for Reid to answer if Maclin or Ford will be ready to go for the weekend.

He was asked anyway on Monday. There are no injury updates for the Chiefs at this point. The only injury from last night was Poe with back spasms. Poe missing most of the second half in and of itself is amazing not to even mention that the Chiefs didn’t have a single player on their defensive line that was a starter in the second half. Yet KC was still able to control the line of scrimmage and keep the Broncos from moving the ball on the ground.

The Atlanta Falcons did have news come out today that was not something that they were hoping for. The Falcons will be without their best DE in Adrian Clayborn and their best corner in Desmond Trufant when they take on the Chiefs on Sunday. With the Falcons defense reeling KC’s offense should feel confident it can move the ball. They must impose their will early on in the run game as it should pay off late in the game.

Challenge for Defense

Dee Ford, Dontari Poe, Steven Nelson, and Jaye Howard will be huge additions when they return at every level of the defense. Steven Nelson and Dee Ford would be huge to get back heading to Atlanta. The Chiefs still control their own destiny this season and a win in Atlanta would give them even more confidence before heading home to take on the Raiders in a short week.
