Los Angeles Rams Need Robert Quinn Back on the Field
Robert Quinn needs to get back on the field if the Los Angeles Rams hope to have a decent pass rush in Week 7.
The Los Angeles Rams desperately need Robert Quinn to get back on the field. The Rams count on Quinn to disrupt the opponents pass game by providing a truly great pass rush.
Los Angeles has suffered two losses in a row, and coincidently, Quinn hasn’t played in either game. Aaron Donald has been able to step up in Quinn’s absence by recording three sacks in the last three games, but it’s obvious this team needs more help on defense.
While Donald has picked up sacks, it’s the pass rush that has suffered with Quinn on the sideline. In each of the last two weeks, Los Angeles has struggled when it comes to getting pressure on the quarterback. In both games against the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions, Tyrod Taylor and Matthew Stafford had seemingly all day to throw the ball in both losses.

Quinn has been listed as day-to-day, but has not been able to make it on the field with a shoulder injury. One begins to wonder if the Rams will choose to hold him out this week in London against the New York Giants, or if they will give him another week to rest with the bye week coming after this game.
If the Rams do choose to hold him out, Donald and the rest of the defensive line must do their part in pressuring Eli Manning. If they can’t apply pressure the two-time Super Bowl MVP is sure to take advantage of the injury-riddled defense.
The trip to London seems to come at the worst possible time for the Rams. After a 3 and 1 start, they are reeling after two straight losses. Quinn and Trumaine Johnson, two of their best defensive players, are injured and there is no telling when they will play next. Offensively, Todd Gurley still seems to be in a funk. Although he has seemed to be more involved in the passing game recently, which has made up for the lack of a strong running game.
Getting Quinn back is essential if Los Angeles hopes to keep pace with the Seattle Seahawks and stay in contention. If he isn’t this week in London, getting pressure on Manning will be a tough proposition. After wasting the strong start to the season, the Rams hope to get back home with a winning record. Having Quinn on the field can only help the cause.
