Losing streak continues for Titans QB Mettenberger
Tennessee Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger made his ninth career start Sunday against the Houston Texans and just like the eight previous games, he emerged from the 34-6 defeat still in search of his first victory as a starter.
Mettenberger, playing in place of the injured Marcus Mariota, finished the day 27-of-51 passing for 234 yards with one touchdown and one interception. After the game, the second-year quarterback said that while the loses have been frustrating, he's not doubting himself.

"I am very confident in my ability to play this game," Mettenberger said. "But at the same time it is definitely frustrating. It makes Mondays a lot worse to go to work and not have that win under your belt. But I just have to keep my head down and keep grinding and hopefully (next) week we can get a win.”
Sunday's loss was Mettenberger's third of the season after losing all six starts as a rookie last year.
Next week, however, may present another for the 2014 six-round pick to record his first win. Mariota's status for Tennessee's season finale against the Indianapolis Colts is in question with a knee injury, and Mettenberger said he expects to get the start.
