Melvin Ingram calls out fanbase after Chargers decide to stay in SD
The Chargers announced their intentions to stay in San Diego for the 2016 season on Friday.
Despite coming to an agreement with the Los Angeles Rams to share a new stadium in Inglewood in 2019, team chairman Dean Spanos said he hopes to work with San Diego city officials to come up with a stadium plan.
Not long after the announcement, linebacker Melvin Ingram fired off an interesting tweet targeted at the local fans for their underwhelming support during a 4-12 season.
When the Chargers lost at home against the Raiders in mid-October, Oakland quarterback Derek Carr said playing at Qualcomm "felt like a home game." It wasn't just Carr who had that assessment, either.
Denver quarterback Brock Osweiler also echoed those sentiments when they played in December.
"Oh my gosh it was unbelievable how much orange," Osweiler said.
San Diego's home atmosphere was consistently dominated by the visiting teams. If it's up to Ingram, that will change in the future.
