Miami Dolphins make moves while Turner gets claimed

The Miami Dolphins held a rare mid-season purge that typically is reserved for coaching staff on Tuesday. Three offensive lineman and one running back have now been replaced.

Gone are Billy Turner, Dallas Thomas, and Jamil Douglas along with running back Isaiah Pead. In their place is another offensive linemand and another cornerback.

The Dolphins brought back Chimdi Chekwa who spent time with the club during training camp. Chekwa was let go in early September after suffering a thigh injury

Also rejoining the Dolphins is offensive lineman Sam Young. Young also spent training camp with Miami.

The Dolphins still have an available roster spot. They claimed former Panther cornerback Bene Benwikere to fill the vacant spot left when Koa Misi was placed on IR. Benwikere was released after a horrible game against Atlanta allowing Julio Jones 300 yards in receiving.

With Miami making four roster moves on Tuesday and signing two, two spots remain. The Dolphins have been working out players at their Davie facility.

One former Dolphins lineman has found work. The Baltimore Ravens claimed Billy Turner off waivers on Wednesday. Turner coming out of North Dakota State was supposed to have a mean streak but never displayed that while with Miami.
