According to a report by ESPN via the Sun-Sentinel, Pouncey has a small fracture to his hip that could result in him missing more time.

ESPN claims Pouncey is scheduled to undergo a CT scan this week, and could miss another two weeks, depending on the results of that test.

Pouncey previously had surgery on his right him and missed four games of the 2014 season. In his absence the Dolphins are turning to former Alabama guard Anthony Steen who started for the Dolphins on Sunday.

Steen played well for the Dolphins and if he continues to play well Adam Gase will have to decide if  he keeps Steen at center and moves Pouncey to guard. The Dolphins did this in 2014 when they signed Samson Satele to fill in for Pouncey when he missed those four games.

Satele played well enough that Miami moved Pouncey to guard. He responded by making the Pro-Bowl.

That is a lot to ask of a first time head coach and a lot of that will be predicated on how well both Steen and starting guard Jermon Bushrod play over the course of the next two or possibly three weeks.

The Dolphins will face a tough New England defense this week. New England played very good defense against the Cardinals in their opening night Sunday win.
