Mike McCarthy: Packers RB Eddie Lacy has been 'rejuvenated'

In order to field a consistent offense, a team needs a reliable running back. The Green Bay Packers haven't had that this year, as a different Eddie Lacy seems to show up each week.

Lacy overcame early struggles to reach the 100-yard mark in Weeks 11 and 12. Then, last Thursday, he was benched after rushing just five times for four yards.

Now, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy claims Lacy is "rejuvenated" and ready to go for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, per Ryan Wood of Press-Gazette Media.

McCarthy also specified that opportunities remain for the star running back to earn back his snaps, according to another Tweet from Wood.

The Packers have leaned on James Starks through Lacy's demotions this season. They also called undrafted rookie John Crockett up from the practice squad last week. Outside of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, he was the Packers' most productive rusher against the Detroit Lions with five carries for 22 yards.

The door is still wide open for Lacy to make a big impact down the stretch -- will he take advantage of the opportunity?
