Minnesota Vikings only had one player on NFL Network's Top 100: Adrian Peterson

NFL Network closed out its "Top 100 Players of 2015" countdown this week, and running back Adrian Peterson was the only player from the Minnesota Vikings featured. Peterson was ranked No. 62 overall on the countdown, which is determined by player votes.

Peterson's placement on the list after playing just one game last year is a testament to the respect he commands around the league. Master Tesfatsion of the Star-Tribune points out that the Vikings running back was No. 4 on the list last year and No. 1 in 2013, right after he led the league with 2,097 rushing yards.

The biggest Viking omitted from the list was safety Harrison Smith, who was also snubbed from the Pro Bowl. Other Vikings who could find themselves on this list in the near future include quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd and cornerback Trae Waynes.

The Green Bay Packers led the NFC North with six representatives on the countdown: quarterback Aaron Rodgers (No. 2), wide receiver Jordy Nelson (No. 18), linebacker Clay Matthews (No. 51), running back Eddie Lacy (No. 60), linebacker Julius Peppers (No.71) and wide receiver Randall Cobb (No. 100).

The Lions were right behind the Packers with five: wide receiver Calvin Johnson (No. 6), linebacker DeAndre Leavy (No. 66), defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (No. 82), wide receiver Golden Tate (No. 85) and safety Glover Quin (No. 88).

The only player from the Bears on the countdown was running back Matt Forte (No. 48). Aside from Lacy and Forte, the only other running backs ranked ahead of Peterson were Philadelphia's Demarco Murray, Seattle's Marshawn Lynch, Kansas City's Jamaal Charles, Pittsburgh's Le'Veon Bell, Buffalo's LeSean McCoy.
