Mularkey, Titans embracing chance to play Jags once again
For the second time in three games, the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars will face off when the two teams meet in Nashville on Sunday.
After losing to the Jaguars on 19-13 on Nov. 19, Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey said Monday he's anxious to see how rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota fares playing against the the same opponent for the second time.
“It is kind of nice that you are playing that same opponent two weeks later because there’s enough familiarity,’’ Mularkey said, per the team's official website. “Plus, they are not real complicated as far as scheme-wise (on defense), of course they have their blitz packages. I think it’s good the game is this close for everybody, not just Marcus. It will be good to see how he reacts to playing the same team two times in three weeks.”
After Sunday's game against the Jaguars Mariota will get a chance to face the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts once again in the last two weeks of the season.
The 2-9 Titans have yet to defeat an AFC South opponent this year.
