Former University of Florida defensive lineman Caleb Brantley was charged with battery in Gainesville after allegedly getting into an altercation with a woman earlier this month, according to court records obtained by the Tampa Bay Times on Sunday.

According to the report, Brantley was charged with misdemeanor battery Friday after allegedly punching the woman during an early-morning incident on April 13. Brantley allegedly made crude comments about the woman, who pushed Brantley. That allegedly led Brantley to punch the woman, knocking her unconscious and knocking out one of her teeth, according to a witness in the police report.

Brantley, 6-2, 307 pounds, was expected to be taken early in Thursday’s NFL Draft, but this news certainly will affect his draft stock.
