Taking a look at the NFL inactives for Week 10 and the injury reports throughout the league.

Injuries are the sad truth in the NFL. No one wants them to happen, but they’re inevitable in the violent, hard-hitting game of football. While horrible, though, they sometimes offer players the opportunity to shine. Say a starter shows up on the NFL inactives list for a given week, a backup who never plays could then step up and shine in relief. That’s one thing we’ll see in Week 10.

Before the official NFL inactives were released by teams, reports from multiple sources came out regarding the New York Jets and their quarterback situation. With Ryan Fitzpatrick banged up, he’s not going to be able to play in NFL Week 10. Subsequently, Bryce Petty is going to get the start against the Los Angeles Rams for the Jets, a move many fans have already been calling for.

This is a huge moment for Petty and the Jets alike. For Petty, he finally gets the opportunity to prove himself and potentially earn himself another start moving forward. Meanwhile, this could be bad news for Fitzpatrick, who could watch his starting job disappear before his eyes.

That’s certainly the big story prior to the official reports coming out, but there are surely more to come. Let’s take a look at the official NFL inactives for Week 10 of the 2016 season:

Note: Inactives are usually released around 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday morning. We will update when available.

With so many marquee games on the docket on Sunday, any injuries could change the entire complexion of a game. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s the case with any of these inactives for Week 10.
