NFL threatened to eject Marshawn Lynch if he wears $1K gold cleats

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch's foot gear might prevent him from playing in the NFC championship game.

Lynch, who was planning on wearing $1,000 gold cleats, was told that he wouldn't be allowed to play if he wore them, FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reports. Glazer checked in with a league official, who confirmed the news.

Lynch attempted to push back on the decision and the team is still unsure if the star running back will comply.

The cleats, which were made by shoe-customizing savant Solesbysir, feature a 24K gold paint along with a chrome finish on the bottom.

Lynch planned on wearing the cleats if the Seahawks made the Super Bowl, but once he saw the finished product, he wanted to play with them during Sunday's game, according to a TMZ report.
