NFL Week 10: Which Teams Are On Bye?
Taking a look at which four teams will be on bye in NFL Week 10.
There are four teams who will finally will get a break in NFL Week 10 after nine straight games of action. One of those teams has seen a possible return to their glory years thus far this season.
The Oakland Raiders enter their bye tied with the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys with the most wins in the NFL through the first nine weeks of the regular season. The Raiders enter their Week 10 bye with a 7-2 record, coming off a huge Sunday Night Football win over the Denver Broncos, the franchise that won the Super Bowl last season.
Oakland proved they belong in the conversation of one of the best teams in the NFL right now with the nationally televised win over the Broncos, and their combined season too. The Raiders are young roster with a very good core of players that are not only learning on the go, but are winning on the go too, making for a dangerous combination for the rest of the AFC West.
Others on byes this week are the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions and the Indianapolis Colts. Buffalo and Indianapolis are both 4-5 overall, and the Lions are battling it out in the NFC North with a 5-4 record.

With the Minnesota Vikings on a three-game losing streak, they’ve went from 5-0 to 5-3. The Lions are right behind them in the division standings with a 5-4 mark. Detroit’s play this year has been a bit up-and-down, but overall they are out-playing what was once expected of them early in the season, especially after losing Calvin Johnson.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has played well so fat this year, entering the bye at 2,373 yards with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions. In his past four games Stafford has thrown for over 200 yards and at least one touchdown. In his past five games, Stafford has thrown at least one touchdown pass, with his season-high being four on Oct. 16 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Even with those numbers, the team that stands out during the bye is the Raiders. They’ve been very impressive and fun to watch in 2016. Their win on Sunday Nigh Football showed the world just how good they are and what is to come from them. Jack Del Rio is doing an excellent job in coaching the young talented roster they have, and Derek Carr is quietly becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
Carr is completing 66 percent of his passes, and has thrown for just over 2,500 yards in nine games, averaging 278.3 yards per game. His 17 touchdown passes to three interceptions (354 attempts) is further proof he’s on the right path to lead the Raiders to success for the rest of the season.
After Week 10, there are just six teams left waiting their turn for a bye week, including four teams next week, and then the final two two weeks away.
