Odell Beckham Jr. Almost Breaks Huge Touchdown (Video)
The New York Giants had a 95-second scoring drive against the Dallas Cowboys in the second quarter, and Odell Beckham Jr. showed why he’s one of the best wide receivers in the league.
The first scoring drive of the 2016 season for the New York Giants came on a four-play drive that began on the Giants’ 25-yard line. The 75-yard drive by the Giants included a run of 1-yard by Rashad Jennings, followed with a 14-yard reception by second round pick Sterling Shepard.
Then came the 45-yard catch in stride as Beckham beat coverage by Orlando Scandrick (who is coming off knee surgery after missing all of last season), plus the additional coverage by safety Byron Jones. OBJ was so close to scoring on the aforementioned 45-yard reception off a perfectly placed pass by Eli Manning with 10:15 left in the second quarter. But alas, it wasn’t in the cards.

The drive concluded on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Manning to tight end Larry Donnell.
Beckham’s catch against the Cowboys defense showed just how important he is to the Giants and why he’s one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. He always seems to come up with big plays against the Cowboys and he did just that on Sunday. Plus, that catch sparked the momentum the Giants offense was looking for at that point of the game.
Remember the one-handed catch Beckham made a couple seasons ago that made him a household name? That catch also came against the Cowboys. And it will be a surprise if he doesn’t continue to make big plays against the Cowboys as the Week 1 game continues.
