Odell Beckham said refs told him he'd be thrown out if he did anything
It appears the refs didn't want a replay of the last time Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman faced off in 2015, when the two virtually brawled on the field last December.
The officials met with Beckham and Norman before the Redskins-Giants game Sunday, a meeting many believed was to make sure there weren't any more fireworks. But, according to Beckham, the refs did more than just ask the two stars to be on their best behaviors.
"Today, they came up before the game and said, 'If you do anything we're throwing you out of the game.' That was before the game," Beckham said, via NJ.com. "There was no, 'You get a warning.' There wasn't any of that. You've just got to be on your best behavior. Unfortunately, this is what we've come to. It's not really football anymore as much as it is all of the other things that play into it."
The message apparently got through. The two battled hard on the field, but the matchup didn't come to blows. Beckham finished with seven catches for 121 yards, but Washington came away with the victory.
Will the two need another warning before their Week 17 matchup?
