Pacman Jones: Texans acted 'like they won the Super Bowl'
By Jason Rowan
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was pretty upset after the game over how the Houston Texans celebrated their 10-6 victory on “Monday Night Football,” suggesting that their players behaved like they had won a much bigger game.
The loss of course was the Bengals’ first loss of the season. At 8-1, Cincinnati obviously are much better positioned in the hunt for a postseason berth than the 4-5 Texans, something Jones was more than happy to point out in his fiery, patronizing postgame comments.
“They f—— won a game,” Jones said, via FOX Sports’ Alex Marvez. “We’re 8-1. How many games have they won? Thank God for them.
“They’ve won four f—— games. They act like they won the Super Bowl. Kudos to them.”
The Bengals were clinging to a 6-3 lead in the second half when T.J. Yates, who replaced a concussed Brian Hoyer in the third quarter, threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins on which the wide receiver made a miraculous one-handed grab in the end zone.
In the end, Jones is right in pointing out that the Bengals, despite the loss, remain one of the premiere teams in the AFC, while the Texans remain below .500 on the season.
On the other hand, the win was a critical one for Houston, as it got the team into a first-place tie with the Indianapolis Colts in the sub-par AFC South. In other words, perhaps the jubilation shown by the Texans was a sign of just how big of a win it was for the team from their perspective.
