Patriots claim former Cardinals WR Michael Floyd following Monday DUI arrest
The New England Patriots likely will be without Danny Amendola until the postseason and won’t have Rob Gronkowski for their playoff run, but they’ve added a potentially valuable reinforcement.
Just one day after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals, wide receiver Michael Floyd has been claimed by the New England Patriots, according to Floyd's agent Brian Murphy, who confirmed the move in an email to the Associated Press.
Floyd was cut by the Cardinals after he was charged with DUI early Monday morning. He was allegedly found by police asleep behind the wheel of his running car in Scottsdale.
Floyd, in his fifth NFL season, has caught 33 passes for 446 yards and four touchdowns this season. He’s set to be a free agent at the end of this year, so this could wind up being a short-term rental for the Patriots.
