Peterson's 'illness'? He swallowed chewing tobacco on team flight

When the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday listed star running back Adrian Peterson as questionable for Sunday's game in Detroit, the only reason given was "illness."

Now we know what made the 2012 NFL MVP sick. FOX's Chris Myers reported on Sunday's game broadcast that Peterson accidentally swallowed his chewing tobacco on the Vikings' flight to Detroit. A swift drop of 800 to 900 feet caused the problem, and Myers reported that Peterson was queasy Saturday night but got hydrated overnight and felt "100 percent better" in time for Sunday's game.
