Philadelphia Eagles could be interested in trading for Alshon Jeffery
Alshon Jeffery to the Philadelphia Eagles?
The Philadelphia Eagles need help at wide receiver and the trade deadline just so happens to be on the horizon. Could the Eagles pull the trigger on a deal that would send a highly touted wideout to the City of Brotherly Love?
It’s certainly possible.
The same day that rumors surfaced about the Eagles potentially looking to trade for San Francisco 49ers wideout Torrey Smith, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora tweeted this little tidbit of information.
Alshon Jeffery is one of the best receivers in the NFL. At 6’3″, 218 pounds, Jeffery is a behemoth of a wideout with very strong hands—something the Eagles are in dire need of acquiring.
Despite playing on a pathetically bad Chicago Bears team, Jeffery has still managed to compile 520 on 32 receptions. Though he has yet to score a touchdown this season, Jeffery is a touchdown machine thanks to his size and uncanny ability to use his body to shield off defenders.
The Eagles’ situation at wideout is pretty bad. All of their receivers have issues holding onto the ball, including Jordan Matthews, their top pass-catcher. The Eagles offense has sputtered over the last three games and the receiving corps’ inability to make plays is partially responsible for that and adding a receiver like Jeffery would immediately fix that problem.
