Police: Ex-Raiders QB Todd Marinovich arrested naked with drugs
Todd Marinovich was arrested last weekend after he was found naked with drugs in a stranger's yard in Irvine, Calif.
Police said, via the LA Times, they responded to a call that a naked man was hiking behind a home and discovered Marinovich, 47, with a bag containing marijuana and possibly another controlled substance, which was being tested. He was charged with possession and trespassing.
Marinovich, a highly touted QB at USC in the late '80s, was drafted 24th overall by the Raiders in 1991 but flamed out of the NFL after failing three drug tests in two seasons. He's since struggled with drug addiction, including a 2000 arrest that halted his comeback in the Arena League.
Marinovich discussed his "partying" at USC in a newly released book "Cardinal & Gold: The Oral History of USC Trojans Football", and in recent years he took up painting and incorporated some of his unfortunate headline clippings into his work.
“I go through happy and depressed moments, and here, I can recreate every emotion that I feel as a human. Without art to express it, I’d be lost," he told insidesocal.com in 2011.
