Raiders GM McKenzie: Khalil Mack will line up everywhere
Khalil Mack is still listed as a linebacker on the Raiders roster.
Mack shouldn't expect to keep that sole designation if you ask general manager Reggie McKenzie.
“He’s really good going forward, and it’s an opportunity to do a lot of different things with him," McKenzie told CSN Bay Area. "They’re going to use Khalil in all kinds of ways. That’s the way it should be."
The Raiders should put Mack in whatever spot gets him closest to opposing quarterbacks. He's been working on his pass-rushing repertoire all offseason in an attempt to up his sack numbers.
McKenzie is simply echoing the thoughts of his coaching staff. Mack can be an ace on the defense if it means he applies more pressure.
“He’s a dominant defensive player, so you want to let him do what he does best," McKenzie said. "We’ll move him around and play him at different spots. That was the outlook for the defensive staff this offseason, was to put him in position to make plays."
