Ravens' Tucker makes amends with game-winning kick

Published Nov. 23, 2015 12:50 a.m. ET

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker wasn't his usual accurate self Sunday, but he made amends when he was needed most.

Tucker connected from 47 yards away as time expired to give the Ravens a 16-13 victory over St. Louis. Tucker, who entered the game with an 88.5 percent accuracy rate for his career, missed two of his four prior kicks on the day, both from 51 yards out. He was relieved to get a chance to get his team a rare win.

"I don’t think I’ve ever been this upset or mad after hitting a game winner, but this is kind of unchartered territory for me," Tucker said via the team's official website. "To be able to bounce back like that though, it’s definitely satisfying."

Tucker's frustrations this season have mirrored that of his team's. Baltimore was expected to compete for a Super Bowl berth this season but now stands at just 3-7. Tucker is in the midst of his worst season with six misses on 28 attempts for a career-low 78.6 accuracy percentage.

Tucker, currently playing on a one-year tender, can become an unrestricted free agent after the season if he is unable to reach a long-term extension with the organization.
