Ray Lewis' son leads Florida high school to state championship

Ray Lewis has had many great moments on the football field. Friday night, his son provided the former Baltimore Raven great with one.

Rayshad Lewis led Bishop Moore to a 37-34 victory over Wakulla for the Class 5A Florida State Championship, marking the school's first state title in nearly 50 years.

Via the Orlando Sentinel:

“To see him to do what he did today," Ray Lewis said, his voice cracking, "this is what parents live for. He's done something the Lewis family has never done before. We've touched (greatness) at the highest level, but to do at the high school level is special. This is something you always remember.”

Rayshad Lewis, a senior, plays cornerback, receiver and sees time at running back.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Lewis had seven catches for 94 yards and touchdown receptions of 31 and 25 yards against Wakulla. He also rushed four times for 33 yards and returned three kicks for 112 yards.

"This is a kid's dream," Rayshad said. "When you're a kid, you dream about being a part of a team and a family that can win a state championship. Every team has athletes and playmakers, but when you're on a team that is willing to do whatever it takes, buys into what Coach is saying and believes in one another; that's how you become a champion."
