Redskins GM injured his hand punching a wall after getting bad news at camp

The Washington Redskins will be without their top rookie Josh Doctson for at least the start of training camp after he injured his Achilles. When a player hurts his Achilles, it’s typically fairly serious -- an injury that can sideline a player for a full season.

Upon hearing of the news, general manager Scot McCloughan took his frustration out on the wall. Not surprisingly, the wall won. McCloughan punched it with his left hand and injured it, forcing him to have it wrapped up at practice Friday.

Former Redskins tight end Chris Cooley shared the story on ESPN 980, via Richmond.com

"I said, 'What happened to your hand?'" Cooley said. "He said, when I found out about Doctson -- which they thought was going to be much worse, the Doctson injury, apparently it isn't going to be as bad -- I punched the wall."

After practice, McCloughan laughed about the injury. He was asked about it, to which he responded “It’s this guy’s fault,” pointing to Doctson. Fortunately, the rookie isn’t expected to be out an extended period of time, and while he’s not practicing, he is being evaluated each day.
