The Washington Redskins have the No. 5 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft and may be willing to trade it.

NFL Media reporter Ian Rapoport said on NFL Network Monday that we should “not be surprised” if the Redskins make the pick available.

Washington has multiple needs — as do most teams that finished poorly enough to get a top-five pick — and they may feel that moving down to increase their overall amount of picks would be more helpful to them. Or, maybe this is their way of making it known to the Eagles that if they want to trade up to draft Marcus Mariota, they can start by looking at the No. 5 spot. A previous report said the Skins would take Mariota at fifth overall. Maybe they’re really trying to scare Philly into moving up for the QB.
