WASHINGTON (AP) The Washington Redskins have signed punter Tress Way to a five-year contract extension.

Way has been the Redskins' punter since winning the job before the 2014 season. He was an exclusive rights free agent.

The 25-year-old lefty out of Oklahoma averaged 46.1 yards and 39.8 net yards on his 70 punts last season. He improved after some struggles early in the year.
