Report: Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles to visit Seahawks this week
The Seattle Seahawks spent three draft picks on running backs last year, hoping to load up at the position after Marshawn Lynch retired. And with Thomas Rawls returning, they looked to be stacked at running back.
They clearly don’t feel that way now as they’re doing their due diligence with regards to veteran free agents at the position. After hosting Eddie Lacy for a visit, the Seahawks will do the same for a few other top backs.
According to CBS, Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles are both scheduled to visit Seattle this week. The same goes for former Raiders running back Latavius Murray.

Peterson and Charles have been sitting on the market for a few days now, not seeing much interest from other teams. That’s likely the result of a few things.
For one, they’re both over the age of 29, and we’re all aware of the steep decline running backs experience when they hit 30. Add in the fact that both are coming off of knee injuries and have a history of them, and it’s simply not a good combination.
Not to mention, they played a combined six games last season and had just 49 carries for 112 yards together.
The Seahawks have two capable backs in Rawls and C.J. Prosise, but neither could stay healthy last season, so perhaps some veteran insurance would be wise. What Seattle really needs to focus on is improving that offensive line, otherwise Russell Wilson and the running backs will be hit in the backfield far too often.
