Report: Adrian Peterson MRI shows torn meniscus
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson suffered a knee injury in Sunday night's 17–14 win over the Green Bay Packers and an MRI on Monday showed a torn meniscus in his right knee, Justin Gaard of KFan reports.
Head coach Mike Zimmer did not dismiss the idea that Peterson could play with the torn meniscus, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Peterson was helped off the field and into the locker room after a five-yard run with five minutes remaining in the third quarter. The Vikings turned to Jerick McKinnon for the remainder of the game.
Peterson previously underwent ACL surgery on his left knee.
It has not been the best season for Peterson as he has only rushed for 50 total yards in his first two games. He had 19 yards on 12 carries on Sunday night,
