Report: Bears WR Kevin White still 'far away' from potential return
Remember Kevin White?
We hardly got a chance to know the rookie Chicago Bears wide receiver before he was shut down with a shin injury this summer. White was the No. 7 overall pick in this year's draft and was supposed to lift Chicago's passing game to new heights.
White has been waiting it out on the reserve/physically unable to perform list and is eligible to return from that designation after Week 6. Though Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times doesn't think his comeback will be that soon.
At 2-3 through five weeks, the Bears have done fine considering the health of their top wide receivers (Alshon Jeffery has dealt with calf and hamstring issues). If and when they get White and Jeffery back at full strength this season, the Bears could be a tough team to beat.
In the meantime, Chicago has an assortment of athletes willing to chip in and make quarterback Jay Cutler's job throwing the ball a little easier.
Lots of questions about Kevin White from you guys for the #Bears mailbag. To answer you all: he's far away from returning.
