Report: Bills DE Alex Carrington (quad) out for season

Published Nov. 30, 2015 12:26 p.m. ET

The Buffalo Bills will already be without defensive tackle Kyle Williams for the remainder of the season, but it sounds like they'll have to play their final five games without another defensive lineman.

Defensive end Alex Carrington was carted off the field on Sunday with a leg injury and did not return. On Monday, he's expected to undergo season-ending surgery on a torn quad tendon, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It's the same injury that ended Carrington's season in 2013, and it's a major blow to the Bills defense. Mario Williams is also injured and missed Sunday's game, while Jerry Hughes has struggled with penalties this season.

Carrington hasn't recorded a sack since 2012 but has dealt with several injuries since then.
