Report: Eagles will push for reunion with DeSean Jackson in free agency

The Philadelphia Eagles have spent the past three years trying to contain DeSean Jackson after he was so electric for them for six seasons. Limiting the big-play receiver is never easy, unless he’s on your team, of course. Then it’s not a problem at all.

Well, as it turns out, Jackson could be back in green and black next season. The impending free agent will reportedly be targeted by the Eagles heavily. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles will make a strong push to sign Jackson in the offseason.

Jackson will be an unrestricted free agent, and while he’s on the wrong side of 30, he’s still a game-changing receiver. He’s averaging 15.4 yards per catch this season on 38 receptions. In his career, the veteran receiver has never had a season in which he didn’t have a reception of at least 60 yards.

Pierre Garcon will also be a free agent, and with Kirk Cousins needing a new deal as well, Jackson could be the odd man out. Add that to the fact that Carson Wentz could use a reliable receiver (or three) and the reunion makes sense.
