Report: Former Atlanta Falcon Jason Snelling arrested for DUI

Published Jul. 27, 2015 12:21 a.m. ET

Many Atlanta Falcons fans haven't heard Jason Snelling's name since he retired after the 2013 NFL season. Snelling was a lifelong Falcon from the time that he was drafted by the team back in the seventh-round of the 2007 NFL draft.

While you always love reading about former NFL players in the news, it's not always for the best of reasons. This time, Snelling's name popped up for the wrong reasons. According to Aaron Wilson of National Football Post, Snelling was arrested for driving under the influence.

As Wilson explains, Snelling is now out of jail, but this is now the third year in a row he's run into issues. Back in 2013 he was arrested for possession of marijuana and in 2014 for driving without a license.

Snelling's best season statistically came back in 2009 when he rushed for 613 yards and four scores, while also catching 30 balls for 259 yards and a touchdown.
