New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith is expected to miss the first four games of the season with a broken jaw, and the man who injured him could be out just as long.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Buffalo Bills practice squad linebacker I.K. Enemkpali is facing “at least” a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy after he punched Smith in the face last month. Rapoport adds that Enemkpali could wind up being suspended six games, though he is set to appeal any suspension.

Smith is not facing any disciplinary action.

Some would argue that both players should be held accountable, as even a member of the Jets organization said Smith deserved to be punched. That said, the argument between Smith and Enemkpali seemed like it was very childish. Professional athletes can’t handle their issues like that and expect there to be no consequences.
